Jim Rittenburg, VP of Healthcare & Life Sciences, contributed an article to the June issue of Pharmaceutical Executive Magazine. The article entitled, “Safety in Numbers”, explains how mass serialization can protect the Untied States drug supply starting today, as opposed to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), which is years away from wide scale implementation. Rittenburg explains how 2-D matrix bar codes can be used to serialize pharmaceuticals down to the item level. The article also explains how mass serialization and RFID can eventually work together.
